A direct cremation in Colorado costs about $1,683 on average, and all-inclusive packages start from $995 in Denver, Colorado Springs and most of the Front Range. Under the FTC Funeral Rule, every funeral home must give you an itemized price list when you ask. See Cremation Costs in Colorado for prices by city.
Colorado does not require families to use a funeral director. There is no fixed waiting period, but a cremation cannot take place until the county has approved the disposition. Since January 2026, a death certificate costs $25 for the first copy and $20 for each extra copy. Colorado has no state funeral assistance, but some counties, including Denver, offer limited help to families who cannot pay. Our Colorado Funeral Guide walks you through each step.
