A direct cremation in Idaho costs about $1,700 on average. Prices vary from one provider to the next, so ask two or three funeral homes for their General Price List before you decide. Under the FTC Funeral Rule, they must give you one when you ask. See Cremation Costs in Idaho for prices by city.
Idaho does not require families to use a funeral director. There is no waiting period before cremation, but a body kept for more than 24 hours must be embalmed or refrigerated, and the county coroner must give written authorization before any cremation. Our Idaho funeral and cremation guide explains each step.
