About Wilhelm’s Portland Mausoleum
Wilhelm's Portland Mausoleum is a mausoleum and interment facility in Portland, Oregon, opened April 24, 1901, as the Portland Crematorium by the Portland Cremation Association. It is the first and oldest crematorium west of the Mississippi River. While cremation services are no longer offered on-site, the facility operates as a historic mausoleum and interment center. An adjacent mausoleum constructed in 1919 holds 400 marble-lined vaults. The facility was designated a WWII bomb shelter and features notable architectural elements including a replica Pietà sculpture and an exterior mural depicting the Oaks Bottom Wetlands Wildlife Area. It is co-located with Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home.
